Tool Description
The EduForge Toolbox is a repository of open source code and applications for creating web-based learning environments.
It contains numerous open source tools that can be used to build web-based learning environments. Check out, for example, Fle3, which is a web-based learning environment designed to support learner and group centered work that concentrates on creating and developing expressions of knowledge (i.e. knowledge artefacts). It's also worth looking at Moodle, an Open Source Learning Management System (LMS) designed using sound pedagogical principles, to help educators create effective online learning communities. People creating role-playing games will be interested in RPG Storyteller, a Flash-based game engine.Links (if applicable)

Why is this an important tool?
Popular open source repositories such as Sourceforge
can be overwhelming for students creating a relatively small learning technology project. EduForge is a scaled down Sourceforge that seems friendly to LTD dabblers. The repository contains sophisticated, fully functional tools that can be the basis for derivative projects.
