Frequently Asked Questions
How do I upload a resource?
A resource (e.g. activity, reading, course syllabi) can be uploaded by going to the individual resource page and clicking on the section "If you have an activity to add, please click here" near the top of the page. You can also follow our brief tutorial.
I have uploaded a piece of content. Where did it go?
Once a piece of content is uploaded, it is reviewed by the L2TD staff to check for completeness and to make sure it is placed in the proper resource page. It usually takes less than a day for your content to show up on the L2TD site.
I really like the L2TD site and I would like to get more involved in its development. How do I do so?
It is easy to get involved with L2TD at several levels. Go to our Get Involved page to find out more.
How can I automatically be updated on changes to the site?
You can "watch" indiviual pages in L2TD simply by clicking on the little envelope icon in the upper right hand corner of the page. Whenever the content of the page changes, you will be sent an email. You can also watch the whole L2TD site and be notified in a daily "digest" email of changes. To set this up, click on the "Profile" link at the top of any page and click on the "Watches" tab.
How do you decide what content appears in L2TD?
When a resource is "uploaded" to our site, it is reviewed by one of our L2TD staff to make sure is it correctly categorized and all of the "meta" information like title and description are included. If information is missing, we will send an email to the author of the post asking for additional information. Once complete, the resource will be added to the site. This process usually takes less than a day or two.
Why is there such a big difference in the number of courses compared to the number of syllabi? Don't all courses have syllabi?
The difference is due to the fact that instructors often post their course information but don't always have a syllabus that they are interested in sharing. Also, some of the course home pages that are exeternally linked from L2TD have syllbi assocated with them.
The L2TD site lets you create and edit pages, as well as post comments. What kind of web site is this?
The L2TD site is a "wiki" - an editable webpage. We have more info on our Tutorial - Uploading Content page if you are interested in finding out more about wikis and how they can be used for teaching and learning.
