CMS.600 - Game Design and Theory

Course Description

CMS.600 is a

discussion and project-oriented course that looks at the application of aesthetic, technical and game-mechanic design concepts on all sorts of games

including board games, card games, live-action games and digital games.

Students will have to work in groups of four or five to design and implement one simple card game project and one digital game project throughout the semester to demonstrate their understanding of these concepts. Groups may have different members between projects. Students are expected to choose and obtain the necessary software and tools for their projects, debug their own code and provide equipment for its demonstration and exhibition.
